Worship is at the core of everything we are and do. It centers our life and gives us life.
We believe worship is a participatory activity. Every Sunday morning we gather to actively participate through song, words, and actions in praising God. In worship...
We celebrate the freedom, forgiveness and grace we receive from Christ.
We learn how to better live out our faith in the world.
We experience the radical inclusiveness of God's love.
Throughout the year, we worship on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. We offer a traditional style of worship but like to mix things up and provide variation between Sundays to try to meet the needs of every worshipper. We are committed to creating a space and place where people of all ages can experience God.
During Lent, we encourage you to join us after worship for coffee and conversation. We strive to create safe, open spaces for people to share their ideas, perspectives and opinions. We are discussing and processing over these next 40 days how we do that. Join us as we discern and create room for Respectful Dialogue.
We would love for you or your child to be baptized at our church. Throughout the year, we do adult and infant Baptims.
Contact our office to set up a time to meet with the pastor to have either yourself or your loved one baptized.
Holy Communion is offered every Sunday. At Holy Redeemer, we practice Open Communion. All are welcome to partake.
We make our own bread and wine, which is a treat to experience. Grape juice is available in the center of the communion tray and gluten-free wafers are available upon request.
Choir sings during worship on the first and third Sundays during the school year except for January. We practice on Sundays from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. except for the fourth Sunday due to Coffee with the Council. Choir welcomes all singers high school age and up.
Instrumentalists are invited to play during worship, either solo or ensembles. Please visit with Jackie Murphy regarding music choices and scheduling. She will also be happy to accompany you. Soli Deo Gloria!
Men's Bible Study
In the Fall of 2015, we are starting a Men's Bible Study group. In addition to BIble Study, the men of Holy Redeemer meet throughout the year for outings and events.
If you are interested in finding out more information about our Men's Bible Study or want to sign up for our men's outings, contact our office at 319-396-8547.
Women's Bible Study
Women's Bible Study meets the first Thursday of every month at 9:30 a.m. Usually the discussion follows an article from "The Lutheran." The discussions are also different but also lively and interesting. Women of all ages are invited to attend.
WIG's is a women's book discussion group that meets every month on the second Thursday of the month at 9:30 a.m. Women of all ages are invited to attend.
Young Adult Ministry
Throughout the year, the young adults stay connected through the our Facebook Group "Young Adults at Holy Redeemer." Find us on Facebook. In addition to staying connected, that's also the spot for our young adults to ask questions, offer up prayers, and God moments.
During the summer, we meet once a month at the Pastor's house. This summer we are centering our discussions on "The Story." If you are interested in being a part of this young adult group, contact the Pastor.
